If you have ever been filling your dishwasher with dirty dishes and run out of room, you may have thought “what if I had a 2nd dishwasher?”. A couple things to note about installing a 2nd dishwasher:
- The standard dishwasher width is 24”. You will need a spot near your sink that is at least 24” wide. You will typically need to remove a base cabinet.
- Ideally you can place a dishwasher on each side of your sink.
- You will need a new dedicated electrical circuit and breaker in your electrical box.
- You will need to plumb for a new waterline and drain line, generally to your sink area.
- You can generally find a matching dishwasher to your current one if it is not too old.
- Splurge for the 3 rack models!
